Triangle of Sadness

A cruise for the super-rich sinks thus leaving survivors, including a fashion model celebrity couple, trapped on an island.

Ruben Östlund's bold and brilliant film slipped a whoopee cushion under this year's dreary Cannes festival - and took home the top prize

In Ruben Östlund's (The Square, Force Majeure) wickedly funny Palme d'Or winner, social hierarchy is turned upside down, revealing the tawdry relationship between power and beauty. Celebrity model couple, Carl (Harris Dickinson) and Yaya (Charlbi Dean), are invited on a luxury cruise for the uber-rich, helmed by an unhinged boat captain (Woody Harrelson). What first appeared instagrammable ends catastrophically, leaving the survivors stranded on a desert island and fighting for survival.

"It's a brilliant, wickedly funny dissection of ego, materialism, social hierarchy, and conventions. It’s a near-perfect satirical work with a fantastic ensemble cast that turns the tables on society’s upper class." - The Aisles

"Ruben Östlund’s takedown of the super-rich that plays like Buñuel by way of the Farrelly brothers." - Time Out

"What first appears to be a look at the rich and luxurious lifestyle of being a model and an influencer, 'Triangle Of Sadness' takes Östlund's satirical formula to another level in the best way possible." - Next Best Picture
